The Lexus LX has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Navigator L doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Lexus LX’s rear backup camera has a standard washer for maintaining a clear view under various conditions. In contrast, the Lincoln Navigator L does not offer a rear camera washer, meaning its effectiveness relies on manual cleaning by the user when necessary.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the LX’s reliability 38 points higher than the Navigator L.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Lexus vehicles are better in initial quality than Lincoln vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Lexus first in initial quality, above the industry average. With 40 more problems per 100 vehicles, Lincoln is ranked 19th, below the industry average.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the statistics that show that Lexus vehicles are more reliable than Lincoln vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Lexus first in reliability, above the industry average. With 81 more problems per 100 vehicles, Lincoln is ranked 24th.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2026 Auto Issue reports that Lexus vehicles are more reliable than Lincoln vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Lexus third in overall reliability. Lincoln is ranked 20th.

The LX 700h’s standard 3.4 turbo V6 hybrid produces 17 more horsepower (457 vs. 440) and 73 lbs.-ft. more torque (583 vs. 510) than the Navigator L’s 3.5 turbo V6.

On the EPA test cycle the LX gets better mileage than the Navigator L:

Regenerative brakes improve the LX 700h’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Navigator L doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The LX has a standard locking fuel door. The fuel filler door is not lockable on the Navigator L. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank.

The LX has a standard full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the Navigator L; it requires you to depend on a temporary spare, which limits mileage and speed before replacement.

The LX has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The LX’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Navigator L doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For better maneuverability, the LX’s turning circle is 4.5 feet tighter than the Navigator L’s (39.4 feet vs. 43.9 feet).

The Lexus LX may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 100 to 350 pounds less than the Lincoln Navigator L.

The LX is 1 foot, 9.4 inches shorter than the Navigator L, making the LX easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The LX’s liftgate lifts up in one piece, completely out of the way of loading and unloading, while sheltering the cargo loading area. The Navigator L’s tailgate’s top part raises up, but the bottom part lowers, getting in the way of loading and making an uneven surface for sliding cargo.

The LX’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Navigator L’s (8000 vs. 6600 pounds).

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Lexus service is better than Lincoln. J.D. Power ranks Lexus second in service department satisfaction. With a 27% lower rating, Lincoln is ranked 15th.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Navigator L, the LX has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The LX’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The Navigator L does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The LX has a standard heads-up display that projects speed, tachometer and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Navigator L doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The LX has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Navigator L doesn’t offer headlight washers.

When the LX is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. The LX 700h’s Advanced Park can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Park will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Navigator L doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
