For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Lexus LS are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Rolls-Royce Spectre doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

The LS has standard Secondary Collision Brake, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Spectre doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The LS has a standard Parking Support Brake that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Spectre doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

The Lexus LS’ rear backup camera has a standard washer for maintaining a clear view under various conditions. In contrast, the Rolls-Royce Spectre does not offer a rear camera washer, meaning its effectiveness relies on manual cleaning by the user when necessary.

Both the LS and Spectre have rear cross-traffic warning, but the LS has Parking Support Brake (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Spectre’s Cross Traffic Warning doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the LS and the Spectre have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

Lexus’ powertrain warranty covers the LS 2 years longer than Rolls-Royce covers the Spectre. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the Spectre ends after only 4 years.

The LS’ corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the Spectre’s (6 vs. 4 years).

There are over 6 times as many Lexus dealers as there are Rolls-Royce dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the LS’ warranty.

For better maneuverability, the LS AWD’s turning circle is 2.3 feet tighter than the Spectre’s (39.4 feet vs. 41.7 feet).

The Lexus LS may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1550 pounds less than the Rolls-Royce Spectre.

The LS is 9.5 inches shorter than the Spectre, making the LS easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Because it has more passenger and cargo room, the EPA rates the LS a Mid-size car, while the Spectre is rated a Compact.

The LS has standard seating for 5 passengers; the Spectre can only carry 4.

The LS has 3.6 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Spectre (97.6 vs. 94).

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the LS’ trunk can be opened and closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Spectre doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its trunk, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

The LS’ front and rear power windows all open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Spectre’s rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

The LS has two rear doors to provide better access for cargo and rear passengers. The Spectre doesn’t offer rear doors.

The LS’ power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The Spectre’s power window switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The LS has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Spectre doesn’t offer headlight washers.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the LS has standard extendable sun visors. The Spectre doesn’t offer extendable visors.

A power rear sunshade is standard in the LS to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Spectre doesn’t offer a rear sunshade.

The LS is equipped with both FM and AM stereo radios, offering access to more content and better coverage than the Spectre, which solely provides FM radio. With AM radio, you can enjoy a wider variety of stations featuring news, talk shows, sports commentary, native language programing, automated traffic guidance, and emergency broadcasts. AM waves travel further and penetrate buildings and obstacles more effectively than FM signals, especially at night. Having both FM and AM stereo radios the LS offers a more comprehensive listening experience compared to only FM in the Spectre.

HD Radio boasts several benefits over conventional radio: superior sound quality with clearer and consistent FM broadcasts, CD-quality audio, and Multicast Channels offering up to four streams from a single station, adding programming choices. Cars like the LS equipped with HD Radio provide an improved in-car entertainment experience. The Spectre, devoid of this technology, foregoes these benefits. Selecting the Lexus LS empowers drivers to enjoy a more immersive and enjoyable listening experience while on the go.
